Family Solicitor
An opportunity has arisen for a Family Solicitor with 5+ years PQE to join our Colchester Family Team at Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP).
TSP can trace its roots back to 1879 and has since grown to be one of the leading law firms in Essex, with 11 partners, some 70 employees, and offices in Colchester and Clacton. A LEXCEL accredited and Legal 500 recommended practice, we offer a range of legal advice to businesses and individual clients. Job Specification
As a member of Resolution, you will work closely and collaboratively with the Head of the Family team. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling a varied workload across all areas of Family Law. These include:
- Cohabitation agreements
- Civil partnerships
- Divorce
- Finances
- Arrangements for children
You will be actively encouraged to participate in innovative marketing and business development activities, developing and maintaining networks for securing new clients, whilst also having the freedom to seek out new opportunities and new areas of work.
With strong ties to the local community, and recognising our corporate and social responsibility, all members of the firm are encouraged to develop links with local charities and participate in fundraising and community based activities.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate must be able to manage an independent case load, be committed to delivering a high level of client service and be experienced with using Case Management Systems. Whilst the ideal candidate would have 5+ years PQE, we would welcome applications from other candidates that may be interested in joining our friendly dynamic firm.
The Package
We offer a competitive salary, depending on level of experience and ability.
Other benefits include:
- We offer an annual holiday entitlement of 36 days that includes 25 bookable days, bank holidays and additional days for the closure of the office over the Christmas period (usually 3 days). The annual holiday entitlement is pro-rated for part time staff
- We are able to offer a Scottish Widows staff pension scheme which you will be auto-enrolled after you have completed 3 months service with us. Employees must contribute a minimum of 5% and TSP contributes 3%
- A medical benefits scheme after probation is confirmed after 6 months of employment
