I have developed expertise in advising companies and partnerships operating in the agricultural sector, as well as dealing with agency, distribution, and other commercial contracts.
I advise clients both locally and internationally, with cross-border experience, especially in transactions involving the USA, Canada, and Continental Europe. I handle diverse industries, including manufacturing, renewable energy, transport, IT, motor vehicle, professional practices, training, retail, leisure and agriculture. I act for golf club and other sporting clubs, particularly in relation to club incorporations and Community Amateur Sports Clubs work.
Originally from Canada, I completed my law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1983 and qualified as a barrister and solicitor in 1984. After practicing at a large Canadian firm, I transferred my skills to the UK, working at Freshfields in London before joining Thompson Smith and Puxon. I became a partner in 2001 and assumed the role of TSP’s Senior Partner in January 2016.
I am recognised as a Leading Individual by the Legal 500 with clients commenting that I am "a stand out team leader" with the team being "prompt, efficient and always available", with "a robust depth and breath of knowledge".
