Recommended in Eight Practice Areas
The Legal 500 has recommended the legal services of Essex-based Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) in eight practice areas, with eight of the firm’s lawyers recommended individually. The results support TSP’s continuing success, as Managing Partner, Steve Webb, explains “The past 5 years have been both exciting and a challenge. Not only have we grown, but are now much more visible in the local market place as a modern, commercially minded and efficient legal practice, and better placed to attract new sources of work. Recent changes include moving to new premises in Colchester, investing in our Clacton office, and rebranding and repositioning the firm, giving us a great foundation for future growth.” Steve is pictured (centre) with Mary Anne Fedeyko, Senior Partner (right), and Finance Director Sharon Auton (left).
The TSP Wills and Estates team is one area of particular success, which, according to the Legal 500, “provides an outstanding service to its clients.” Team leader Fiona Ashworth and solicitor Robert Ashworth are “renowned for their great depth of knowledge and experience”. The Family team, led by Marcus Price, is also recommended, as are the firm’s Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury practices which are once again highlighted as being amongst the best in the South East of England. Accredited Clinical Negligence specialist, Julian Wilson, is once again recommended.
The Business Services team, led by the firm’s Senior Partner, Mary Anne Fedeyko, are also recommended by the Legal 500, and offer a comprehensive service. Whether legal advice is required on a property transaction, a business deal, an employment issue or a dispute of any kind, the team can advise on and have expertise in all of these practice areas.
Mary Anne is singled out for her “good business acumen and legal experience” and the team for “well researched advice on a wide variety of corporate matters.”
Mary Anne says “Our Employment team, led by recommended lawyer, Richard Porter, plays a vital part in many commercial transactions; the services of a strong Commercial Litigation team, led by Sharon Auton, who is also recommended, provides a part of the broader service our commercial client base require. Our Commercial Property team has been boosted by the addition of Kerry Addison, who with her agricultural expertise has allowed us to continue to grow and develop our agribusiness work.
She continues “At TSP we believe it is essential that we fully understand the needs of our commercial clients and the manner in which their businesses operate to ensure we deliver our legal advice accordingly.
There are many challenges facing SME law firms such as ours, but we have a number of excellent teams, with, we feel, the right people in those teams, and as such are in a very good position to deal with whatever comes our way.”
