Press Release: Alamo Group Europe Ltd, acquires Stowmarket based Timberwolf Limited
The Alamo Group Europe Ltd, the European arm of Alamo Group Inc, has acquired Stowmarket based Timberwolf Limited (Timberwolf), who manufacture and sell a broad range of commercial wood chippers in the UK and Europe. Timberwolf has sold over 16,000 chippers since its formation in 1986 and will operate within the Alamo Forestry and Tree Care Group.
Alamo Group Inc, whose HQ is based in Texas, has a stable of leading brands in the agricultural equipment and forestry sector and Timberwolf’s existing product range of wood chippers are a clear strategic fit.
The owner of Timberwolf and seller in the transaction, Richard Marshall, was advised by the corporate team at Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP), the Essex based law firm who have been involved with the Timberwolf team for many years.
The TSP team was multi-disciplinary in focus and included company commercial lawyers Mary Anne Fedeyko, and Nick Mayles, and commercial property lawyer Stephen Firmin.
Richard commented, “The deal had an incredibly tight deadline but with the pragmatic approach of TSP we were able to achieve a completed sale in just under 4 months. I would particularly like to name Mary Anne Fedeyko and Nick Mayles as kingpins in the whole process - without their tenacity and work ethic this deal would not have happened’’
The Alamo Group were advised by the corporate team at Acuity Law.
Nick Mayles commented “The team here at TSP were, of course, delighted to be asked to advise on this sale which I am sure will lead to further growth given the obvious synergies between Timberwolf and The Alamo Group’’.
