Solicitor Specialising in Insolvency and Restructuring, joins the TSP Corporate and Commercial team
Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP) is pleased to announce a new addition to the Corporate and Commercial team, Solicitor Nicola Rout.
Nicola advises clients on a broad range of Corporate and Commercial matters but specialises in insolvency and restructuring. Nicola has a wealth of experience acting for companies, investment banks and hedge funds, including acting on debt for equity swaps, debt restructurings and pre-pack administrations.
Nicola obtained her law degree from Oxford University in 1998 before gaining her Diploma in Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School in 1999. She then joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to undertake her training contract qualifying into the Restructuring and Insolvency team. Her experience highlights include acting for stakeholders in the Lehman Brothers collapse in 2008 during her time as senior associate at Latham & Watkins and then more recently, advising a FTSE 100 company and a global professional body on GDPR compliance issues.
Nicola says “I am looking forward to bringing my insolvency and restructuring experience to TSP, and offering innovative solutions-based support for companies concerned with insolvency and liquidity issues, whether their own or those related to their customers or suppliers. I enjoy helping companies overcome the obstacles they face by providing them with practical and timely advice and I am excited to offer that alongside the wide range of Corporate and Commercial services that the team already offers. ”
