Christmas and New Year 2020
The Directors and Staff of Thompson Smith and Puxon wish all our clients and professional contacts the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
Our offices will be closed from 5.00pm on Thursday 24 December 2020 until 9.00am on Monday 4 January 2021.
This year for our Christmas Charity we have supported Colchester food bank and Clacton food bank. Instead of sending Christmas cards and decorating our offices in the traditional manner we are making donations to the food banks. Staff at both offices organised a food collection that was delivered to the food banks and made monetary donations. Overall, including staff donations, we are pleased to be donating £500 to Colchester food bank and £500 to Clacton food bank alongside the food donations we have made.
Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the number of people needing support from food banks with research forecasting a 61% increase in food parcels needed across the UK in October – December. Colchester food bank itself has seen a 52% increase in demand from April to September compared to the same period last year. They are the second busiest Foodbank in the East of England.
