Record Amout Raised at the Brantham Teddy Bear Parachute Challenge

The annual Teddy Bear Parachute Challenge took place at St Michael's Church Brantham on Saturday 29 June 2019. The weather was lovely once again and this encouraged 85 brave bears, each wearing a parachute designed by their Trainer, to make the jump from the top of the Church tower. Their descent was timed and the Bear who managed to stay airborne the longest crowned the winner. Each Bear was allowed multiple jumps to try and beat their existing time with parachute alterations and repairs allowed between jumps!

Thompson Smith and Puxon have sponsored this event, which is always great fun and very well supported, since the beginning. All of the money raised  is for the benefit of the church, and this year, when the amount was totaled at the end of the event a record breaking £1400 was reported, and there is still more sponsorship money and gift aid to collect for the teddies whose trainers were sponsored.

This year the winning Bear was 'Carol's Bear' with the excellent flight time of 43.12 seconds, very closely followed by 'Hannah' in second place with 37.97s with 'Eeyore' flying into third place with a time of 37.78s.
