Anisa takes on Snowdon!
Congratulations to Anisa Khan, Court of Protection Paralegal, in our Wills and Estates team who successfully climbed Mount Snowdon earlier this month.
Anisa took on the challenge to raise vital funds for Islamic Relief UK to help the people of Afghanistan cope with winter. Millions of Afghans are on the verge of facing a catastrophic famine and their lives are at stake as Afghanistan experiences one of the worst droughts in 27 years. As a result, food, water and supplies are extremely scarce with 22 million people, more than half of the population, facing acute food insecurity in the next few months.
Islamic Relief UK, a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), is on the ground delivering vital food packs, water storage kits and winter clothing, as well as providing medical care through health centres supporting displaced families. The funds Anisa has raised will contribute to these efforts and TSP are pleased to be able to support her in her fundraising.
Talking about her challenge Anisa said, “Climbing Snowdon was a personal challenge, which I was able to face knowing I had a warm and safe home to return to afterwards, which is not the case for a lot of people around the world. To be able to raise money for Afghanistan in this way and to see the support from my peers has been such a unique and rewarding experience.”
